The Vaca High Volleyball team has concluded another great season, ending with a league record of 15-0, and rounding out with 23-4 overall. Here are some highlights from the season: Vaca High Varsity took the first set 25-11 over Napa. Vaca High took the second set 25-18, and finished the match 25-8 over Napa. Libby Christensen, a player on Varsity got 11 kills in three sets and surpassed over 100 kills, setting a personal record, and ending the match with total of 103 kills.
Vaca High played away at Wood on October 10th, and won 3-1. Vaca High Varsity took the first set 25-7 and then won the next set 25-12. Wood fought back and took the third set 25-21 but Vaca High finished off the game and beat Wood in the last set 25-20. #8 Cassidy Simon was selected as the player of the match for Vacaville.
Vaca High played Vintage at home on October 5th, Vaca High Varsity took the first set 25-15, and then won the next two sets 25-8 and 25-14, sweeping the match 3-0. #13 Jessica Jenkins, was selected as the player of the match for Vacaville.
Vaca High took on Armijo at home on October 11, Vaca High Varsity took the first set 25-11, then went on to win the next two sets 25-10 and 25-17 for the last set, sweeping the match 3-0. #9 Lauren Hayward was selected as the player of the match for Vacaville. Christiana Richardson, a player on Varsity explained why she thinks they are on a 12 game win streak, “ We had a great start to round three, we have some very dedicated and strong players, we push till the end, and our couch pushes us really hard in practice which executes in our games.”
Vacaville faced Rodriguez on October 19th for a home conference and won 3-0. Vaca High Varsity won all three sets against Rodriguez, scores being 25-17 for the first, 25-18 for the second, and 25-17 for the last set. #10 Libby Christensen was selected as the player of the match for Vacaville.
Vaca High played their last game of the season at home against Wood on October 26th. They won all three sets. They then moved on to playoffs.
