The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test or, as most know it, the PSAT is a standardized test that is run by the college board. Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is another test that is run by the military entrance processing command. The test will help you find a place in the military that fits you. The PSAT is to get you ready for an SAT that is for a undergraduate program.
The PSAT is offered between October 15th, 2016 and October 19th, 2016. The ASVAB on the other hand is taken whenever your recruiter thinks you are ready. The PSAT lasts 2 hours and 45 min. There are three sections Math, Evidence based reading, and writing. In the ASVAB test they challenge your arithmetic reasoning, math knowledge, and verbal composite scores. The ASVAB in all takes around 3 hours to finish.
Two tests which both take time and focus will allow you to achieve a peak of success in education. Approximately 1.5 million of the 3.5 million students that take the PSAT will be eligible to compete for the National Merit Scholarship Program recognition or scholarship. The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition among high school students for recognition and college scholarships. There is a computerized test version for the ASVAB. There is also a pencil, pen, and paper version.
All in all these tests are only benefits, preparing you for the other major tests in your life that will set you off for your career.
