During the halftime of Vacaville High School’s Homecoming game, the winner of the 2016 homecoming queen, title, was crowned. Earlier this month, all students voted on one girl in their class to be an attendant, and one senior to be nominated queen. The nominations were tallied, and the results were announced. The nominees for attendants were: Freshman Attendant: Aliyah Orozco, Sophomore Attendant: Jalen Carey, Junior Attendant was Emma Digman, Senior Attendant was Morgan Houston. There were many ties for nominations for queen, so there needed to be a re-vote. After that, Student Council came to the conclusion that the based on the votes, Anabelle Norman, Gabriela Mendoza, and Ashley Moe were the girls who the students wanted. After a long week of waiting, students of Vaca High came to the game to witness the results. The attendants and queen nominees rode around the track in old-fashioned cars and were showcased on stage. Last year’s queen recipient, Kaytlin Quijas, revealed the winner, Anabelle Norman. Fireworks immediately shot into the sky and the crowd roared with excitement. Congratulations to our new queen.
