The 2016 Black and Blue Rally was held on Friday, November 4th, 2016.  The hosts were Jessica Jenkins and Rowan Kelly. The rally was opened with a stirring rendition of the National Anthem.  The rally began with the hosts making a few announcements, then introducing the Vaca High’s Cheer squad, whose amazing performance was set to a remix of current hip hop songs.  The Varsity Football Team was then introduced.  The team got in their huddle and did their chant, pumping the team up for the Black and Blue Bowl that night.  There was a tug-of-war contest between several football players and drill team members.  Naturally, the football team prevailed in this contest.  Six “Will C. Wood Drill Team” members came out to perform, but their performance was lackluster.  Why?  Because they were from Will C. Wood!  Our Vaca High Drill Team kicked them off the floor and took their positions.  The Vaca High Drill Team performance was nothing short of spectacular.  Their kick lines were divine and their movements were sharp and swift.  Our Vaca High Drum Line then performed in darkness with “glow in the dark” accents exciting the crowd and working everyone into a frenzy.  The result of this show of school spirit was partially the reason that Vaca burnt Wood.  GO BULLDOGS!!!
